Got Bunnies?
We are a non-profit, no-kill rabbit rescue. Get information about our
organization, find out how to become a volunteer,
and learn about other ways to help
bunnies. Add your name to our mailing list!
******************************* Emergency ******************************
Zooh Corner Rabbit Rescue is asking for help if anyone has room in their
home for a House Rabbit, or who knows someone who might.
Zooh Corner is located in San Gabriel, SoCal, and we have almost 40
rabbits right now who are looking for homes, with space only for about 20!
Here are some of the bunnies who have been there a long
time, who need to get out.
Please help these
rabbits get a second chance. If you have any space. . . please save a
life, or two!?

Run-A-Mutt event [http://sgvhumane.org/runamutt]
Saturday, September 20th, 9 am - 2 pm
Temple City Park, Temple City CA
[The park is located at the Civic Center Complex - 9701 Las Tunas Drive.]
The San Gabriel Valley Humane Society will be holding their Second Annual Run-A-Mutt Dog Walk and Family Festival on Saturday September 20, 2008 in Temple CIty Park from 9 AM to 2 PM. Temple City Park is located on Las Tuna Drive in the heart of Temple City.
Zooh Corner will be at the Run-A-Mutt event in Temple
City on Saturday, September 20.
We'll
have info on adoptable buns, volunteer opportunities, and bunny care,
provide free nail trims, and sell our hay, toys, and other goodies. :)
Like last year, the Run-A-Mutt Dog Walk will be a large, family oriented event that will allow the community to gather with their
family pets while participating in a day of learning and fun. It
will be an exciting day of games, including: The Best Dressed Pet
Contest, Go Cart Raffle tickets, agility performances from Disc Dogs
of Southern California, a variety of food and specialty item shopping
kiosks and more.
The day's main event is a 1 mile and 3 mile walk, starting at 11:00
AM. Each Owner/Pet team pre-registration fee is only $25.00, and
with that registration, each team will receive an event t-shirt for
the owner and a bandanna for their 4-legged partner. On-site
registration begins at 10:00 AM, with the traditional Blessing of the
Animals to precede the walk itself at 10:45. Pre-registration forms
for the walk will be available at local retail outlets as well as
online at http://www.sgvhumane.org/runamutt/participate/
The Run-A-Mutt Dog Walk offers the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society
a chance to raise money to improve the health and well-being for some
of the city's less fortunate citizens, lost and abandoned pets. The
Festival's goal is multi-faceted, raising funds for new and improved
kennels while increasing awareness about the function of the Humane
Society in the community, whether it be animal control, licensing,
pet adoption or even low-cost spay and neutering.
Contact: Dorothy Chin, Event Coordinator
Mobile Phone: 626-627-0010
San Gabriel Valley Humane Society
Humane Society Telephone: 626-286-1159
Zooh Corner will not be at the Pasadena PetCo on 9/20, but we will resume our usual PetCo days in October.
Hope to see you at the Run-A-Mutt!!

"In 2007 we began making plans for realizing a long-held dream: to completely renovate the rabbit area at the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society to make it safer and more comfortable for the rabbits, our volunteers, and potential adopters and other visitors. Our Build for the Bunnies project includes new flooring (currently the area has a potholed dirt floor), new roofing, a better cooling system, and custom-designed three-level bunny condos, which are now being hand-constructed by our volunteers. The total estimated project cost is $10,000.

Register your Ralphs card Please do this BEFORE AUGUST 31, 2008.
If you are a regular Ralphs shopper, you probably have seen the new Ralphs
Rewards cards which are taking the place of the old Ralphs Club cards.
And, hopefully you also know that Ralphs has a contributions program by
which charities like Zooh Corner receive money when our supporters shop at
Ralphs and use their cards. We've just been notified by Ralphs that in
order for ZC to continue receiving money as of September 1, 2008, our
supporters must (1) obtain a Ralphs Rewards card, and (2) go online to the
Ralphs website and register their card number to benefit ZC. Then,
starting September 1, every time youbuy groceries at Ralphs and use your
card, ZC will receive a cash contribution. Check the bottom of your
receipt - it should indicate "Zooh Corner Rabbit Rescue."
Signing up for this program is an EASY way to benefit ZC (every penny
counts!).
Go to your local Ralphs store and ask for a Ralphs Rewards card application - you'll need to fill it out in the store (only takes a few seconds), and they will give you your new card right away.
When you get home, go to the Community Contributions program page of the Ralphs website, click on the "Participant" box, and follow the instructions to register your card. Zooh Corner's organization number is 84034 - you can also use the "Help" feature in the form if you forget, and do a search on Zooh Corner, and our number will pop up.
Please do this BEFORE AUGUST 31, 2008. If you currently have a Ralphs Club card that is registered for ZC, please note that we will no longer receive donations when you shop as of September 1, 2008, so you MUST get and register the new Ralphs Rewards card this month.
Please spread the word to family members, co-workers, friends, etc. who
shop at Ralphs - the money DOES add up when we have a lot of participants,
and helps fund rabbit spays and neuters and other critical needs for our
rescue.

We are overwhelmed with rabbits at the San Gabriel Humane Society right now. We have had 8 rabbits dumped in the last week, and one of the females just gave birth to 8 babies!! We have no more cage space, and need to get some of them out ASAP.
All of these bunnies are so deserving of a loving home. We will spay/neuter them and most are even great with their litter boxes too! Can you help us by taking in a bunny as a foster or permanent resident?
We are also in desperate need of finacial assistance to cover all the emergency spays on the other females dumped this week. See their photos on our Adopt Page, and if you are thinking about adopting, now is the time! Foster homes are also welcome.
And if you aren't able to take a bunny into your home but would consider a monetary donation, see our Paypal link below, or checks can be sent to Zooh Corner Rabbit Rescue, PO Box 2192, San Gabriel CA 91778. You can check out other ways to help at our Help the Bunnies Page. |

* New and Improved Toy Starter kits.

 |
We also have custom toy and goodie baskets available, ranging in price from $15 to $75.
Please call us (626) 576-BUNI to order or for additional information. We do not have regular hours yet, but feel free to call and set up an appointment to check out our goodies and hay!
In order to get our online store up and running, we need a reliable volunteer or two to help us! With so much else going on, we don't have the man power to keep a reliable store up and running, and we don't want to disappoint customers. We are looking for someone to give us a few hours a day, maybe 2 days a week. It will involve getting the orders off of the email, filling the box, and taking it to the post office. We have volunteers to help make the toys, we just don't have someone to fill the orders every week. It's won't be a lot of time at first, but once our customor base grows, it may involve more time, or a second volunteer. Please email us or give us a call if you would be willing to give us a few hours a week. (We are located in San Gabriel, CA)
Cats and Rabbits and more
The BunnyBags are still stuffed with lots of organic herbs and flower petals - and they are even bigger than before! You will also find a few other Zooh goodies, such as the Deluxe Toy Starter Kit, Chew Wreaths--and (yay again!) our super tasty, organic and healthy treats-- GardenGoodies!

Volunteer Opportunities
We really need help to care for the bunnies at this shelter. We will train you. The more volunteers we have, the better we will be able to care for these rabbits! Even if you can only spare one hour a week, or a few hours every other week (consistently) we can use your help.
More volunteers = better conditions for the rabbits, so please drop us a line today and let us know you can help! E-mail alex@mybunny.org.
